The Alkali Woods

{Attn: Pyra}

Kameo’s senses go into overdrive when she sees the lightening. Her body crumbles to the ground. She sits on the ground curled up her head between her knees and her hands over her head. Of course it has to be lightening. She closes her eyes jumping at every crack she hears.

Kameo doesn’t even notice Pyra until she is practically upon her. Kameo looks at up Pyra, fear evident in her face. “I…I am…sure…they…are…fine.” She buries her face again when lightening streaks across the sky, stifling a screech.

[Attn: Kameo]

"Kameo. Kameo, look at me. Listen. Hey," Pyra says, turning her caretaker's head so that the two are face to face. "Focus on me. I understand how you feel right now but you can't let it get in the way. Come on, snap out of it. The lightning won't hurt you."

{Attn: Pyra}

Kameo flays her bottom lip as Pyra lifts her face. She tries to look Pyra’s eyes as she speaks. However all she sees it the lightening in the background. “I’m sorry…I can’t…I will only…hinder you.” Kameo wants to be strong, but finds her courage fleeting with every flash she sees.

[Attn: Kameo]

Pyra stands back up fully and turns in the opposite direction. "They can't be far. I'll go find them and then we'll get out of here. Be ready to leave when I get back," she says authoritatively.

{Attn: Pyra}

When faced the prospect of being alone in the lightening, Kameo stands up. It takes all her willpower not to cling to Pyra. “Fine…I will come with.” She shudders and swallows hard. “Just don’t leave me alone.” She hates this, showing her weakness.

[Attn: Kameo]

Pyra looks over her shoulder at Kameo then walks back to her and offers her hand. "We'll stick together while we look for them," Pyra says.

{Attn: Pyra}

Kameo takes Pyra’s hand, jumping a little as she does. “Thank you. Now let’s find them so we can get out of here.” Her eyes dart around as she and Pyra walk forward. She hopes to find the guys quickly and there is no lightening around when they do.

[Attn: Kameo]

Pyra looks into one house, having thought she saw something. "That's...weird. I could have sworn..." Lightning once again illuminates the night sky and Pyra holds Kameo's hand tighter, looking over her shoulder to check on her.

{Attn: Pyra}

Kameo is too busy looking everywhere but skyward to notice the house Pyra looks into. She hears Pyra just as the lightning flashes. Kameo stiffens momentarily and falls to her knees as Pyra squeezes her hand. “I…can’t…do…it...” She looks up and sees Pyra looking at her. “Let’s…check out…the house.” Houses are safe, better than the outside at least.

[Attn: Kameo]

Pyra looks on at Kameo with understanding and guides her into one of the houses. "Stay here, I'll go find-" Suddenly she bumps into the two boys as she turns around to leave. Both stand in the door way but remain planted where they are even after Pyra bumps into them. "There you both are! What's...wrong with-" Pyra suddenly sees something else. Behind them both is a ghostly figure with multiple sets of eyes. Its body a shadow covered by a cloth, it suddenly disappears.

Then, out of the blue, both Lucas and Lance attack the girls.

As luck would have it the boys were in the house Pyra was leading them too. They are standing in the doorway, and do not move. Kameo thinks she sees something behind them, but before she can make sense of it they are attacked.

“What the…guys it’s us!” Kameo holds her weapon in front of her in a defensive manner. She does not want to attack them unless she is force too.
