Attilan, Kingdom on the Sea

Right now as peaceful as can be, Attilan rests on the ocean, staying afloat using powerful magic. The Mage Council's grand Temple stands tall and the sun pleasantly beams down over the Kingdom.


Ven looks up to the sky and proceeds on his way, accidentally bumping into Aria. "Oh, pardon me," he says as he goes on about his business.

Aria's staff clatters to the ground.

"It's alright," She replies as she reaches down to retrieve it.

Two young mages-in-training motor by next and stop near Aria by the Mage's Temple. "Someday, Crescia, I'm going to be a Town Mage," says the blonde one.

"If that's your dream, Hela. Me, I'm going to be a world class freelance mage."

"Yeeaaah, good luck with that."

Aria smiles at the two as she picks up her staff, "There are a lot more mages than I thought... It's nice to see that's the job's starting to get more popular~"

Meanwhile, in the fallen kingdom of Soleste, the wicked White Queen sits in her frigid throne room, casting her gaze upon the regional map. Her attention fixed upon Attilan, she taps her staff to the icy floor and Glacia appears before her. "You require my assistance?" Asks the spiteful ice goddess.

"Yes," the dreaded, ice hearted dictator begins, "Of all the Kingdoms, only Attilan is strong enough to even mildly rival us. They must be the next to fall. The rest of the kingdoms shall fall as your icy plague spreads but they must fall first. That is certain."

"Right away."

And like that, the ice goddess turns into a chilling mist, reappearing in the clouds over Attilan. She touches her cold hands to the soft balls of cotton in the sky, freezing them from within. "Your fall shall be slow," she says quietly as snow begins to fall to the ground.

Crescia and Hela feel the sudden drop in temperature and feel the snow fall upon them. "Hm? Snow? At this time of year?" Hela questions. "Eh, whatevs. It'll pass by tomorrow. Let's get inside." She then runs off with Crescia right behind her. Then Ven walks by, staring to the clouds.

Aria pulls her hood up, "Strange.... It shouldn't be snowing here for awhile..."
Out of the corner of her eye, she notices Ven and moves a bit farther away.

Later that night, the curfew bell rings and all pedestrians begin to head home as the snow begins to build up.

Aria opens up the door to her small home, and closes it behind her upon entering, "I thought that the snow would be gone by now... Oh well, if I doesn't let up by tomorrow, I'll check to see if something is interfering with the weather...."
Walking into her bedroom, she sets her staff down on the vanity and then sits down on her bed.

The ice goddess appears again in the clouds of the night sky and claps. "Now, Attilan, you will know the power of ice. Let there be reign." And as said by the cold hearted goddess, the snow and hail on the grounds below begin to swirl, forming an icy cyclone. That very cyclone begins to take new form as a behemoth Ice Soldier. "Ice so cold that no flame could melt it. Let there be blood." The massive creature begins to rampage through Attilan, destroying all in sight.

Startled, Aria stands up and runs out the door, grabbing her staff along the way.

Upon seeing the Ice Soldier in it's rampage, Aria runs off throughout the chaotic streets of the city towards the entrance-- and exit-- to the city.

The Icy goliath sees several as they attempt to escape but it isn't as slow as most others and beats them to the bridge to mainland, destroying it. Then it turns on them all and lifts its foot as if preparing tostep on them all.

Aria points her staff up towards the soldier's foot, yelling out quickly, "Contego Maximus!"

Sparks come out of her staff for a moment, and just when it seems like the spell was going to fail, a thing shield spreads over where the ice soldier's foot is going. The shield, though, breaks once the soldier steps on it

As the icy golem prepares again to step down, this time surly without fail, another shield forged of metal appears beneath its foot, protecting those beneath it. As everyone turns, they see Hela standing there with the tip of her staff glowing. "What are you all waiting for?! Get out from under that thing!"

Crecia suddenly appears, whipping up several fireworks to distract the beast. "Hurry!"

Aria runs out from the danger zone, then lets out a breath, "They're amazing...."

The golem stomps down, bending the shield of metal just as everyone escapes from beneath it. "Well...that didn't work," Hela says.

"Ya think?!" Crescia yells.

The golem reaches for the girls when comes a sudden streak of slashing light then its hand falls to the ground and melts. On the other side of the monster is the swordwielding Ven. The blade slug over his shoulder, he turns to the beast. "You had best learn from this and leave, cretin."

Aria backs away slowly, looking more afraid when the golem had almost stepped on her

Ven then splits his blade down the middle and stick the twin blades into the ice golem's leg, using them as picks to climb up the massive creature. Glacia watches from the clouds above, amazed at this mortal's bravery. Hela and Crescia see his heroism and begin to cheer him on.

The mage seems suprised by Ven's efforts, and while still a bit uneasy does not look as frightened as before.

Ven lands on the shoulder of the behemoth. As it tries to swat him off,he jumps over its arm, catching the steel of the blade on its chest as he nearly falls over a hundred feet to his certain demise. Then he hoists himself up and, forming the blades back into one, she slashes, landing on the building behind the beast as it begins to topple over. Then he slides down the wall of the building, lifting all three young magesand setting them down out of harm's way as it lands in the streets.

Aria gulps down the lump in her throat, and weakly raises her voice, "Th-thank you, s-sir...."

Ven says nothing for a moment then places his blade in its sheath. "You are most certainly welcome, miss. If my services are no longer required, I shall be on my way." He then turns and leaves, the crowd cheering for him but another bell soon rings, this time calling in the Mage Council and the Attilan Knights. Hela hears the all too familiar bell and runs off, Crescia lagging behind her. They see the knights all flooding into the temple and the mages as well. "Daddy?" Hela says, looking around for her father.

Aria get swept up into the madness, and pulled along into the building with the crowd. Her panic level starts to rise, and her breathing begins to become uneven, due to the fact that most of the people around her just so happen to be men.

The head knight, Hela's Father, makes his way into the room. At the center table, he and the council discuss teh situation. "Knights and Mages, these are grim times. We've heard of the fall of Soleste and it seems that we are the next target on the spiteful White Witch's agenda. We must act quickly," he says.

"We should put up the Attilan Barrier. Keep anyone from getting in or out of Attilan. Even the great goddesses cannot shatter it," says one of the female mages.

"Aye," says Hela's father. "Then that shall be our next move. All mages are to report to the town center and we shall raise the barrier."

Hela and Crescia look at one another uneasily.

"No...." Aria breathes, running from the room as fast as she can, "I will not be stuck here in Attilan! Not while the Witch is off somewhere destroying another kingdom!"

The young woman dashes through the streets of Attilan, and towards the outskirts.

Hela and Crescia overhear Aria and exchange devious glances then chase after her quietly. "You think she remembers the bridge is out?" Hela asks her partner.

"Nope. Think she knows about the secret tunnel?" Crescia responds.

"Negative. This is going to be fun."
